Returns & refunds

1. Consumer Guarantees

Under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, if your Peekaboo cat litter has a major fault or quality issue, you’re entitled to a repair, replacement, or full refund. You may also be eligible for compensation for other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

2. Change-of-Mind Returns (Non-Faulty Items)

You can return unused and unopened products in original condition within 14 days of delivery.

For hygiene reasons, we can’t accept returns of opened, used, or soiled items, unless there’s a fault.

Return shipping costs are your responsibility for change-of-mind returns.

3. Faulty or Damaged Items

If your item arrives damaged or faulty, contact us within 3 days of delivery and include clear photos or videos.

Once verified, we’ll:

  • Cover all return + reshipment costs
  • Offer you a replacement or refund (your choice)

4. How to Return an Item

To start a return:

  1. Email info@peekaboo.co.nz within 14 days
  2. Include your order number, reason for return, and any relevant photos/videos
  3. We’ll send you an email with return instructions
  4. Send the item back within 7 days, securely packaged
  5. Once we receive and inspect it, we’ll issue a refund or send a replacement within 5–7 business days

5. Who Pays for Shipping?

  • Faulty or damaged items – we cover all costs
  • Change-of-mind returns – you pay both the original and return shipping

6. Refund Method & Timing

Refunds are issued to your original payment method (e.g. credit card, PayPal).

Depending on your bank or provider, refunds may take 5–7 business days to appear.

7. Proof of Purchase

All returns must include a valid order receipt or invoice.
We can’t issue a refund or exchange without proof of purchase.

8. Conditions

  • Returns only apply to unopened, unused items in original packaging
  • Refunds exclude original shipping costs, unless we made a mistake or the product is faulty
  • We may refuse returns that don’t comply with this policy
  • Any used, opened, or soiled items will be rejected unless faulty
